Assessment – Though it’s called “Omega” here, the assessment period is the time when the pack gets to know you, and you get to know the pack and our ways.
Bark – A loud sound made by a wolf. Often used to greet or warn a wolf.
Chuff – A soft sound made by a wolf, used in greetings or to call another off.
Circle – This is what we call a Pack Meeting. These are mandatory for all members, where we cover additions/changes to the rules and other items that affect the pack.
Council – This is the pack’s leadership, made up of the pack’s Alpha(s), Beta(s), Elite Sentinel(s), Elite Guardian(s), Elite Hunter/Scout(s) and Elite Caretaker(s), and any Elders.
Griggle – A sound that a wolf makes, it’s a mixture of a growl and a laugh.
Groom(ing) – A wolf’s way of taking or giving a bath.
Growl – A sound of anger, fear, or warning. Often used by a high ranking member to put a lower ranking member in his/her place.
Hierarchy – The ranking system used by the pack.
LOA – Leave of Absence. If you are going away for a while (more than 4 days), please inform Council that you need an LOA.
Murr – Similar to a cat’s purr, this is a sound a wolf makes. It is usually a sound of contentment or a way to soothe another.
Omega – This is what we call our “Assessment” period. This is the time when we get to know you before you join, and when you get to know us and our ways.
Pad – Walk.
Pledge – Though this isn’t a rank in our pack, it means that you have expressed a desire to join the Amaranth pack, to the Council.

Sister Pack – A pack that is like extended family to our family. They help us when we’re in need, as we help them when they have need.
